Mohan Kumar Verma Family - Sanjhi
The craft of paper'cut decoration. Vijay, Ajay, Mohan Kumar Verma's family.
The beauty of Sanjhi rests on the skill of the craftman to cut the paper in such a way that it holds together yet allows the design to show beautifully. The cut patterns also create an interesting play of light. Using a special pair of scissors, the craftsmen work to create intricate patterns on paper.
The Katagami Project
The Katagami Project presents John Huston’s collection of 2049 original hand-cut stencils in a searchable catalog. Use the website to explore visually curated groups of selected works in shows or to learn more about the collection, history and craft in essays listed here.
Chris Stain Giving Away Stencil Printmaking Book
Just got word that Chris Stain (his Stencil Archive), long-time supporter of this project, has posted up his helpful and informative book "Stencil Printmaking: History / Info / How To" as a free pdf download.
This caused us to revisit the 2002 conversation we had with him, where we discussed stencils, screen printing, other bits and pieces. That old post has gone through more than one website upgrade, so we just refreshed and revised it to add on to this post about his free book download.
Here is the Justseeds page with a few photos of the book, and the link for the download.
