An exhibit, an auction
At the initiative of SOS RACISME, 84 internationally renown Street Art artists united around the very present-day theme “Touche pas a mon pote” [don’t touch my buddy] exhibit they creations from Saturday 28th to Monday 30th May 2001 at the Palais d’Iéna, Paris, France.
Thanks to the generosity of these artists, this free (access) exhibit will conclude by a charity auction to the benefit of the Association SOS RACISME (for 3/4th, 1/4th for the artists).
Following the 2010 exhibit at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France, this unique art show will take place in the mythical architectural palace conceived by Auste Perret: the Palais d’Iéna, graciously provided by the Conseil Economic, Social and Environnemental Council.
For 3 days, this palace offers a magical contrast at the crossing of generations and innovative craftsmanships, creating a link beyond social affiliation, a bridge to live together.
Pierre Bergé, Sponsor of SOS RACISME, Antoine Godeau, auctioneer at the Pierre Biergé et al Auction House, Experts Véronique Mesnager and Alain-Dominique Gallizia, Jean-Paul Delevoye, President of CESE, as well as all the volunteers will make this project into this year cultural highlight of the Parisian contemporary art scene.
An exceptional work will be auctioned “Gangsterizm; Rammelzee and Jean-Michel Basquiat”. A collaboration between STEPHEN TORNTON and TOXIC, one a photographer, assistant of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the other a road companion of Basquiat and Ramelzee in New York.
