contemporary urban art exhibition
Following «PUBLIC PROVOCATIONS», the new exhibition is opening on Dec 03, 2011 at the Carhartt Gallery, entitled «WALLFLOWERS». A new take on urbanism, creating the dynamic feel of the city in a new and unique setting. 10 International Artists will be creating art directly on the walls of the exhibition structures. The complexity and energy of this modern art form will be revealed in all its facets, bringing color to the drab gray of winter! or For the first time there is an exhibition poster designed exclusively by Ripo from New York in a special limited-edition available for purchase.
The colors of nature change more and more to pale grays of city concrete. Street art compositions that were priorly merging with the chaotic and colorful environment and therefore seeming almost invisible, are now brilliantly popping from the dull background: actually becoming the city’s flowers, colors and voices. This art movement has been found not only in urban outdoor settings, but also in studios for a long time now. The dimension and feeling of a large-scale wall mural is not something existing normally in most studios. The 10 artists spotlighted are experts in large scale murals and the feeling of a borderless painting becomes reborn when we take away the traditional gallery canvas and give them the wall itself to work with. In addition, each artist will also be exhibiting their regular works and explosive talents. We also are very pleased to be celebrating the Gallery Premier showing of the amazing Moses & Taps!
