JUSTSEEDS UPDATE 02.11.08
--------------------------------------------
It's been awhile since we've sent out an update, so it seemed time to let y'all know what we've been up to.
We've produced our first set of promo stickers, and we'll be sending them out with every order. They're designed by Kristine Virsis, and quite nice if we do say so ourselves. We've got a new set of postcards on the way too, so those should be filtering out into the world in the next couple months.
Most people seem to slow down over the holidays, but we've been hard at work making new prints! In our Store we have a dozen new items:
>>>Erik Ruin has a new print, Death Factory, and it's a good one, check it out.
>>>We're excited to be able to have a couple items from the amazing Taring Padi, a radical printmaking and activist group from Indonesia. We have a small portfolio of their work called Fang of Rice, and a nice postcard set.
>>>Kristine Virsis has a brand new print, too. Wind is classic Kristine, but she's been evolving, and there's a nice new line quality in this one.
>>>Meredith Stern has a couple new prints. The first one pushes the boundaries of what you would call a print: Mine is an 18" tall stuffed cat figure that doubles as an artist book, and triples as a self contained collection of silkscreens, hand stamps, and fancy sewing work. Definitely check this out! She's also got another new print, called Patience, it's a large format ode to women struggling and learning new skills, and it's a small run, only 10 made in this printing.
>>>Roger Peet has a couple new prints up for sale, Passenger Pigeons is a beautiful ode to just that, the passenger pigeon, and Lovely Weather shows off Roger's darker side.
>>>Pete Yahnke has a new silkscreen of his Hope print. Gorgeous colors, and a little less expensive than some of Pete's large format pieces.
>>>Josh MacPhee has a new print about housing struggles called Now!, as well as new, improved reprints of his set, new colors schemes and nicer paper.
The Justseeds blog has also really been taking off. We're starting to post everyday, and having some conversations develop. If you know of cool radical art stuff going on in the world, let us know so we can blog about it.
Here's some recent posts:
